Hello Mr Pierre.. Its been a long time since I wanted to write to you but I had temporarily lost your card.
The day I spent with you was one of the most memorable in my life. Not only because of the places I visited but also because of the superlative warmth and hospitality I experienced on that cold drizzly day at Normandy , March 2009. It was not only your depth and degree of knowledge on the Great War and Western Europe but also your passion which was astounding. I wish to relive the experience again and for a much longer duration.. You are a friend , a philosopher and a guide in the truest sense. I really really had a great time. My regards to your family and to your son and his family in Moscow. Your grandson and my son are almost the same age I believe. Anytime you wish to come to my part of the world, India, you are warmly welcome to be my guest.

Nous avons passé une merveilleuse journée avec Pierre Doublet qui nous a montré plusieurs aspects de la Normandie à commencer avec le Mont St. Michel bien sûre, mais aussi le jardin et le musée Christian Dior à Granville et des abbayes romanes. Pierre connaît très bien l'histoire de la Normandie, il sait parfaitement conduire et il comprend très vite les voeux de ses clients.

Booking a tour online can leave you with some doubts over what leave of service you will receive when you actually get there. But no worries with Pierre. He arrived early to our hotel down in Mount Saint Michael and agreed to start immediately as we were also ready to go and had much ground to cover. His car was clean and in good running order and stocked with some basic refreshments for us. His driving was professional and his manners, conversation and information excellent. He accommodated my needs for a whirlwind tour so that at the end of our one day I was well satisfied with my short visit along the vast majority of the main D-day related sites. I strongly recommend Pierre to anyone looking to enjoy such a tour.

After an exhausting day of traveling across France it was such a delight to have you waiting for us at the train station. Your love of history and the area where you live made our time in Normandy a wonderful experience. To relax and leave the driving to you was a treat beyond measure. We would not think of coming to visit again and not have you as our driver and guide.

Pierre, it was such a pleasure to have your smiling face greet our party of four after a long overnight flight to Paris. Your enthusiasm for Normandy and your knowledge of its history kept us going through the day to Giverny, Caen , and on to our chateau. Your services, with Nicole, over the next two days to the beaches, Mont-St-Michel, and Bayeux provided us comfort, education, and a real kinship with the region. After you drove us back to Paris, with a lunch stopover in Honfleur, we felt like we were traveling with a friend. Thank you for your thoughtful attention and your constant willingness to help make our visit special.

I thought I would comment on what a wonderful experience Jackie and I had when you gave us a tour of the D-Day beaches. Your warmth, knowledge and fantastic attitdue made the tour an unforgettable one. I found out through our conversation that we share a love of history. The area where you give the tours is an history lovers paradise. The pre-Roman era to the continual conflicts with your neighbors and on to WWII. Your mini-tour of Bayeux was great as well.
